About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead their mechanical design and development initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will play a crucial part in the entire product lifecycle, from conceptualization and detailed design to testing and production support. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design and development of sophisticated mechanical systems and products, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Oversee and conduct rigorous stress analysis , thermal analysis, and vibration testing to validate designs.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless product development and scale-up.
- Develop and implement robust testing protocols and quality control measures for mechanical components and systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the mechanical engineering team, fostering their professional growth.
- Contribute to strategic planning and roadmapping for future mechanical engineering advancements.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in mechanical engineering, with a significant portion in a lead or senior role.
- Expertise in 3D CAD modeling and advanced simulation tools (e.g., Ansys, SolidWorks Simulation).
- Demonstrated experience in project management and leading engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and DFM principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, adept at working within a hybrid team structure.
