Lead Pipeline Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Lead Pipeline Engineer to spearhead their pipeline engineering activities from their strategic base in Portsmouth . This senior role requires extensive expertise in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of pipeline systems within the demanding oil and gas industry . You will lead a team of engineers, ensure adherence to stringent safety and regulatory standards, and drive innovation in pipeline technology. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and integrity management of onshore and offshore pipeline systems, ensuring compliance with international codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.4, B31.8, DNV).
• Oversee all phases of the pipeline lifecycle, from conceptual design through to construction, commissioning, and decommissioning.
• Develop and implement comprehensive integrity management programs, including risk assessment, inspection planning, and fitness-for-service evaluations.
• Manage and mentor a team of pipeline engineers, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure seamless project execution.
• Provide expert technical advice on materials selection, welding procedures, corrosion control, and trenchless technologies.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in pipeline engineering within the oil and gas sector , with a proven track record in a leadership capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of pipeline design software, integrity assessment tools, and relevant industry regulations.
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, material science, corrosion engineering, and welding technologies.
• Experience with project management methodologies and contract administration.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and diverse teams.
