About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Power Systems Engineer to drive innovation and technical excellence within their remote engineering team. This role is crucial for the design, development, and implementation of advanced power systems, with a focus on grid modernization and integration of renewable energy sources. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the highest standards of engineering practice across complex projects. Working entirely remotely, you'll collaborate with a global team of experts, contributing to projects that are vital for a sustainable energy future, shaping the design and operation of next-generation power grids.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis, and simulation of high-voltage power systems, including transmission and distribution networks.
- Develop and implement strategies for integrating renewable energy, energy storage, and smart grid technologies.
- Oversee technical aspects of power system projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Mentor and guide a team of power systems engineers, fostering a culture of technical growth and problem-solving.
- Conduct feasibility studies, impact assessments, and provide expert technical advice on complex power engineering challenges.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Extensive experience (7+ years) in power systems engineering , including design, analysis, and operation.
- Proficiency with power system simulation software such as PSS/E, ETAP, or PSCAD.
- Strong understanding of grid codes, regulatory requirements, and the challenges of renewable energy integration .
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience working effectively in a fully remote, collaborative environment.
