Lead Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Process Engineer to oversee key projects and provide technical leadership within their Wolverhampton facility. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing complex chemical engineering projects from conception to completion. You will be responsible for guiding a team of engineers, ensuring project objectives are met on time and within budget, while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the process engineering aspects of major capital projects, from feasibility studies to detailed design and commissioning.
• Manage and mentor a team of process engineers, assigning tasks and providing technical direction.
• Develop and refine process designs, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee the development of process simulation models, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for process engineering matters on project teams and with external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Extensive experience (8+ years) in process engineering, with significant project leadership responsibilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in process design , simulation (e.g., Aspen Plus), and P&ID development.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and execution strategies.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate engineering teams effectively.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
