Lead Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a seasoned and dynamic Lead Process Engineer to spearhead their process engineering division in Wolverhampton, West Midlands . In this senior role, you will be responsible for leading project teams, overseeing the entire lifecycle of process design and implementation, and ensuring technical excellence. You will play a critical role in driving innovation, mentoring staff, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, contributing significantly to the company's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex chemical process projects from conception to completion.
• Manage and mentor a team of process engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
• Conduct detailed engineering calculations, simulations, and economic evaluations.
• Ensure projects adhere to all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Liaise with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Oversee HAZOP studies and risk assessments for new and modified processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• 10+ years of progressive experience in process engineering, with a proven track record in project leadership.
• Extensive experience with process simulation software and design tools .
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in managing project budgets and schedules in the West Midlands region.
