About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Process Engineer to join their facility engineering team in Bradford . This senior position is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of process systems for oil and gas facilities. You will provide technical leadership, ensuring processes are safe, efficient, and compliant with all regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to project success, offering expertise in process simulation, design, and troubleshooting within the challenging oil and gas sector .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the process design activities for new projects and modifications to existing facilities, including PFD and P&ID development.
- Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize plant performance and ensure safety margins.
- Specify process equipment, such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and distillation columns.
- Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP studies, and implement necessary safeguards.
- Provide technical support to construction, commissioning, and operations teams during project execution and ongoing operations.
- Ensure all process designs comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
- Mentor junior process engineers and contribute to the development of technical best practices within the engineering department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering , with a significant focus on the oil and gas industry.
- Proven experience in process design, simulation (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus), and P&ID development.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamic principles, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer operations.
- Experience with safety studies and risk assessments (HAZOP, LOPA).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, required for effective collaboration in Bradford .
