About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Production Designer to spearhead the visual direction of groundbreaking projects within the Arts & Entertainment sector in London . You will lead a team of talented designers and artists, ensuring cohesive artistic integrity and pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling. Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and develop the overall visual style and aesthetic for projects, aligning with directorial vision and narrative requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production designers, art directors, and set designers, fostering a collaborative and creative atmosphere.
- Oversee the creation of detailed concept art, storyboards, mood boards, and technical drawings for sets, props, and costumes.
- Collaborate closely with directors, cinematographers, and other key creative stakeholders to ensure artistic vision is realized throughout production.
- Manage budgets and timelines for the art department, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely delivery of all design elements.
- Conduct research into historical periods, architectural styles, and other relevant sources to inform design choices.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Production Designer or Art Director in film, television, or high-end theatre productions.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a creative team, with strong project management skills.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software, including AutoCAD , SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of visually compelling and conceptually rich design work.
- Deep understanding of colour theory, composition, and spatial design principles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
