Lead Production Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Lead Production Engineer to join their team in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK . This role is central to optimizing the performance and efficiency of Oil & Gas production facilities. You will lead a team of production engineers, focusing on maximizing output, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of wells and surface facilities. This position offers the chance to apply advanced production engineering principles to complex operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for optimizing production from oil and gas wells and facilities.
• Oversee daily production operations, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions to maintain optimal performance.
• Lead the planning and execution of well workovers, completions, and artificial lift system implementations.
• Conduct production system analysis, including nodal analysis and performance forecasting.
• Manage the integrity and reliability of production equipment, ensuring adherence to maintenance schedules and standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior production engineers.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, and operations teams to achieve production targets.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in production engineering within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Strong understanding of artificial lift systems (ESPs, gas lift, rod pumps), well stimulation, and production optimization techniques.
• Experience with production data analysis and simulation software.
• Proven ability to manage complex production operations and lead engineering teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
