About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and authoritative Lead Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost management and commercial strategies for a portfolio of major development projects in Bradford . This senior role requires a strategic thinker capable of managing complex financial aspects of large-scale construction, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction. You will lead a team of QS professionals, providing mentorship and driving best practices in cost control, contract administration, and risk management. This is a key position for a seasoned professional to shape the financial success of significant construction endeavors in West Yorkshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the quantity surveying function for multiple major construction projects, ensuring robust cost control and commercial viability.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies, including procurement, tendering, and contract negotiation.
• Oversee the preparation and management of project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and final accounts.
• Mentor, guide, and develop a team of junior and senior Quantity Surveyors.
• Manage complex claims, variations, and disputes, negotiating favourable outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and financial regulations.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor , with a significant portion in a lead or senior management capacity on large-scale projects.
• Expert knowledge of various construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, JCT, NEC) and their commercial implications.
• Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of surveying professionals.
• Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
• Chartered status with RICS or equivalent is highly desirable.
