Lead Research Scientist - Biotechnology

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Lead Research Scientist to spearhead groundbreaking projects within their Biotechnology division in London . This pivotal role involves leading a team of dedicated researchers, driving the discovery and development of novel therapeutic agents, and contributing significantly to the company's scientific pipeline. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of scientists and technicians in experimental design, execution, and data analysis.
• Develop and implement innovative research strategies to advance drug discovery and development programs.
• Oversee complex research projects from conception through to preclinical stages, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, generating high-quality reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical development, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless project progression.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in biotechnology and related fields.

Requirements

• PhD in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in biotechnology research , with a proven track record of leading successful R&D projects.
• Extensive experience in areas such as gene editing, protein engineering, cell-based assays, or pharmacokinetics.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a research team, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software and laboratory information management systems.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
