About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Lead Retail Assistant to join their team in Southampton . This role is pivotal in ensuring the store operates smoothly and provides an outstanding customer experience. As a Lead Assistant, you will support the management team by guiding sales associates, assisting customers, managing inventory, and maintaining store standards. You will play a crucial role in driving sales and fostering a positive shopping environment for all visitors to the Southampton store. This position is perfect for someone with a passion for retail and a desire to take on more responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers with product inquiries, sales, and ensuring a high level of service.
• Support the management team in daily operations, including opening/closing procedures and cash handling.
• Guide and mentor junior sales associates, sharing product knowledge and best practices.
• Maintain store presentation, including visual merchandising and stock replenishment.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
• Help manage inventory, including receiving deliveries and conducting stock checks.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a retail environment, preferably with some supervisory or lead experience.
• Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Strong product knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively about offerings.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support colleagues.
• Basic understanding of inventory management and POS systems.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, as required for the Southampton store.
