About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Lead Risk Manager to join their established team in Bristol . This role is critical for identifying, assessing, and managing a wide range of risks across the organisation, ensuring robust risk mitigation strategies are in place. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the firm's risk management framework, policies, and procedures, and providing expert guidance to senior leadership. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with extensive experience in financial risk management, a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, and a commitment to fostering a strong risk-aware culture within the banking and finance sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the enterprise-wide risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
- Identify, assess, and prioritize key risks facing the organization, including market, credit, operational, and compliance risks.
- Design and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and stress testing exercises.
- Prepare comprehensive risk reports for senior management and the board of directors.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on risk management best practices.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management within the financial services industry.
- In-depth knowledge of various risk types and regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III, Solvency II).
- Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Experience working within a non-remote, collaborative office environment in Bristol is essential.
