Lead Scientist, Immunology Research

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and visionary Lead Scientist to guide their Immunology Research initiatives in Glasgow . This role is central to discovering and developing novel immunotherapies for a range of diseases. You will lead a team of talented researchers, oversee the design and execution of complex experimental programs, and drive the scientific strategy within the immunology department. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of immune system function and a proven track record of scientific leadership and innovation, contributing to a dynamic research environment focused on tackling unmet medical needs through immunological approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of research programs focused on understanding immune responses and developing novel immunotherapies.
• Manage and mentor a team of research scientists and associates, fostering a collaborative and productive research environment.
• Develop and implement cutting-edge immunological assays and experimental models.
• Interpret complex experimental data and guide strategic decision-making for research projects.
• Author high-impact scientific publications and present findings at international conferences.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance the immunology pipeline.

Requirements

• PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of post-doctoral experience in immunology research, with a significant portion in a leadership role within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Extensive knowledge of cellular and molecular immunology, including T-cell biology, B-cell function, and cytokine signaling.
• Proven experience in developing and validating complex immunological assays and cellular therapies.
• Demonstrated success in leading research teams and managing project timelines.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
