Lead Software Engineer - Trading Systems (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Software Engineer to spearhead the development of their critical trading systems. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to lead a talented engineering team in designing, building, and maintaining high-performance, low-latency trading platforms. You will play a key role in defining technical architecture, mentoring engineers, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of systems essential to the firm's operations within the demanding Banking & Finance industry. This role requires exceptional technical leadership and a deep understanding of complex financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high-performance trading systems and infrastructure.
• Architect robust solutions that meet stringent requirements for speed, reliability, and security.
• Mentor and guide a team of software engineers, fostering best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with quantitative researchers, traders, and product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Optimize system performance and identify opportunities for technical innovation.
• Ensure the quality and maintainability of code through rigorous code reviews and testing methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior technical role.
• Extensive experience in developing high-frequency trading systems, low-latency applications, or complex financial platforms.
• Proficiency in C++, Java, or another high-performance programming language.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and real-time data processing.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies is a plus.
