About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Solar Farm Developer to spearhead the growth of their renewable energy portfolio, working entirely remotely. This is a critical role focused on identifying, acquiring, and developing large-scale solar farm projects across the UK. You will be at the forefront of the transition to sustainable energy, playing a key part in conceptualizing and bringing significant solar installations to fruition. As a remote-first position, you will require exceptional self-discipline, communication skills, and the ability to foster strong virtual collaboration with a distributed team, all contributing to the company's mission of expanding clean energy access.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate potential sites for new solar farm development , conducting thorough due diligence.
- Lead the entire development lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility studies to securing planning permissions and grid connections.
- Negotiate and secure land lease agreements and power purchase agreements (PPAs).
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, landowners, grid operators, and investors.
- Develop detailed project plans, financial models, and risk assessments for each development opportunity.
- Stay abreast of market trends, policy changes, and technological advancements in the solar industry to ensure competitive advantage.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Engineering, or Business.
- Significant experience (8+ years) in solar project development , with a proven track record of successfully bringing utility-scale projects to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of the UK's planning system, grid connection processes, and energy policy landscape.
- Strong negotiation, financial modeling, and contract management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects concurrently in a remote setting .
