About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Farm Manager to oversee operations at a significant agricultural holding located near Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is critical for ensuring the efficient and profitable day-to-day running of the farm, encompassing crop cultivation, livestock management, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of modern agricultural techniques, financial management, and health and safety regulations. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and achieving strategic business objectives for a well-established agricultural enterprise in the Tyne and Wear region.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all aspects of farm operations, including planting, cultivation, harvesting, and livestock care.
- Develop and manage the farm budget, ensuring financial targets are met and optimizing resource allocation.
- Supervise, train, and motivate farm staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to work schedules.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of farm machinery, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental policies across all farm activities.
- Source and manage relationships with suppliers and external service providers.
Requirements
- Significant experience in farm management or a similar agricultural leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of crop production, animal husbandry, and farm machinery.
- Demonstrated ability in financial planning, budgeting, and cost control.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Farm Management, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
