About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Sound Designer to join their talented team in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will lead a team of sound designers, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and contribute your expertise to audio strategy and development. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the sound design team, providing direction, mentorship, and creative oversight for all audio aspects of projects.
- Design, record, and implement high-quality sound effects, ambiences, foley, and musical scores that enhance the narrative and gameplay.
- Collaborate with game developers, directors, and other creatives to define and achieve the desired audio aesthetic.
- Manage audio assets, maintain sound libraries, and ensure efficient integration into the game engine or post-production pipeline.
- Stay abreast of the latest audio technology , tools, and industry trends to drive innovation within the team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in sound design for games, film, or interactive media, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
- Proficiency with industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Reaper, and audio middleware like Wwise or FMOD.
- Strong understanding of acoustics, signal processing, mixing, and mastering techniques.
- Experience in recording live sound and developing custom sound libraries.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a keen artistic sensibility.
