Lead Sound Designer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Sound Designer to spearhead audio development for upcoming interactive entertainment projects based in Leicester . You will be instrumental in crafting the sonic identity of our games, guiding a team of talented sound engineers and composers to deliver immersive and emotionally resonant audio experiences. This pivotal role demands a blend of technical expertise, creative flair, and strong leadership skills, ensuring the audio department consistently achieves the highest standards of quality and innovation within the Arts & Entertainment sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization and implementation of all sound design elements, including sound effects, ambience, and Foley.
• Manage and mentor a team of sound designers, providing clear direction, feedback, and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Collaborate closely with game designers, level designers, and programmers to integrate audio seamlessly into gameplay mechanics and environments.
• Oversee the audio implementation pipeline, ensuring efficient workflows and technical best practices are maintained.
• Develop and maintain the audio style guide and technical specifications for all projects.
• Source, record, and edit high-quality audio assets, ensuring they meet project requirements and artistic vision.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sound Designer, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior role within the gaming industry.
• Demonstrable portfolio showcasing exceptional sound design skills across multiple AAA or notable indie titles.
• Proficiency with industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Wwise, FMOD, Pro Tools, or Logic Pro.
• Strong understanding of audio middleware, game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity), and audio implementation techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a creative team.
