Lead Structural Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Lead Structural Engineer to join their team in Derby . This role will involve leading the structural design and analysis for a range of challenging projects, ensuring the integrity, safety, and efficiency of structures. You will manage project deliverables, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with clients and other disciplines to achieve project objectives. Working in a hybrid model, you will balance focused office-based design with the flexibility of remote work, contributing to a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of various projects using industry-standard software.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for structural engineering tasks.
• Review and approve structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of structural engineers and technicians.
• Liaise with clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design and analysis.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS).
• Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, and timber design principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
