About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join their expanding operations in Plymouth, Devon, UK . This hybrid role involves overseeing the structural design and integrity of various onshore and offshore assets within the demanding Oil & Gas sector. You will lead structural engineering activities, ensuring designs meet stringent safety and performance standards, and mentor a team of engineers. This is a key position for an individual passionate about delivering robust, reliable structural solutions in a challenging environment, contributing to significant projects in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design of offshore platforms, subsea structures, and onshore facilities.
- Perform advanced structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
- Develop and review structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications according to industry codes and standards.
- Manage structural integrity and inspection programs for existing assets.
- Oversee and mentor a team of structural engineers, providing technical guidance and project direction.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Structural Engineering , with significant exposure to the Oil & Gas industry .
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience with offshore structure design and analysis, including jacket and topside structures.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SACS, STAAD.Pro, or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, DNV, Eurocodes).
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
