About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and proactive Lead Technical Artist to join their fully remote team. You will be crucial in bridging the gap between art and technology, ensuring that creative visions are realized efficiently and effectively within technical constraints. This role demands a blend of artistic sensibility and deep technical expertise to solve complex problems, optimize workflows, and support the art team in delivering high-quality assets for projects in the Arts & Entertainment sector. You will champion best practices and innovative solutions across the development pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain art pipelines, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality for the art team.
- Collaborate with engineers and artists to troubleshoot technical art issues and implement robust solutions.
- Optimize art assets and engine performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in real-time rendering.
- Create and implement shaders, materials, and visual effects systems.
- Mentor and guide junior technical artists, fostering a collaborative and technically proficient art department.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Technical Artist with a proven track record of leading art-related technical initiatives.
- Proficiency in game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity, including scripting (e.g., Python, C#) and shader development.
- Strong understanding of 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation principles.
- Experience with performance profiling and optimization techniques for real-time applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and a passion for bridging art and technology.
