About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Lead Telecoms Network Architect to spearhead the design and evolution of their global network infrastructure. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK. You will be responsible for developing the architectural roadmap, defining standards, and ensuring that the network effectively supports business objectives and future growth. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of emerging technologies and a proven ability to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable, and secure network designs. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the long-term architectural vision for the company's telecommunications network.
- Design high-level network solutions for new services and infrastructure upgrades, ensuring scalability and resilience.
- Define technical standards, best practices, and governance frameworks for network design and deployment.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and methodologies to enhance network performance and capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to align network architecture with strategic goals.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to network engineering teams across the organization.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in telecommunications network architecture and design, with a focus on large-scale networks.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing complex network solutions involving routing, switching, security, and transport technologies.
- Deep understanding of cloud networking, SDN, NFV, and associated architectural patterns.
- Expertise in developing architectural roadmaps and technical strategy documents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Relevant advanced certifications (e.g., CCIE, JNCIE) or equivalent experience are essential.
