About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead UI/UX Artist to define and execute the user interface and experience for their ambitious projects in Bristol . This senior role requires a blend of artistic talent and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles. You will lead a team of UI/UX artists, establishing visual style guides, ensuring intuitive navigation, and creating engaging interfaces that enhance player immersion. Collaborating closely with game designers, product managers, and engineers, you will translate gameplay and narrative needs into functional and aesthetically pleasing UIs. This is a prime opportunity to shape the player's journey and contribute significantly to the success of our titles.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the UI/UX art team, providing direction, mentorship, and constructive feedback.
- Design and develop intuitive, engaging, and aesthetically cohesive user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX) for game applications .
- Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and final UI assets, ensuring consistency with game art direction.
- Collaborate with game designers and product managers to understand requirements and translate them into effective UI solutions.
- Establish and maintain UI style guides and asset libraries.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve player satisfaction.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in UI/UX design , with a significant portion focused on video games or interactive entertainment.
- Proven experience leading a UI/UX art team and managing projects from concept to completion.
- Expertise in industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma, or similar.
- Strong understanding of UX principles , user-centered design, information architecture, and interaction design.
- Excellent visual design skills, including typography, color theory, and layout.
- Experience with UI implementation within game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine UMG, Unity UI Toolkit) is a strong advantage.
