Lead UX/UI Designer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly creative and experienced Lead UX/UI Designer to shape the user experience of their digital products in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial in translating complex user needs and business requirements into intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing interfaces. You will lead the design process from conception to execution, collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders. This is a fantastic opportunity for a design leader to establish and champion design best practices within a collaborative and innovative tech environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of user interfaces and user experiences for web and mobile applications, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user journey.
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups based on user research and project requirements.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and A/B testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
• Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a culture of design excellence and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure the technical feasibility and implementation of design solutions.
• Establish and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all digital platforms.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with a significant portion in a leadership or senior capacity.
• A strong portfolio showcasing successful UX/UI design projects for digital products.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles , interaction design, and information architecture.
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale effectively.
