About the Role
Our client, a highly respected entity within the Arts & Entertainment industry in Newcastle upon Tyne , is seeking a visionary Lead VFX Artist to spearhead their visual effects department. In this critical role, you will guide a team of talented artists, pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling and technical innovation. You will be responsible for overseeing the creation and integration of stunning visual effects across a variety of media, ensuring a cohesive and impactful aesthetic. This position offers a unique chance to shape the visual identity of significant projects and lead a creative group within a vibrant studio setting located in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of VFX artists, fostering a collaborative and productive workflow.
- Oversee the entire VFX pipeline, from concept and simulation to compositing and final delivery.
- Develop and implement high-quality visual effects that align with the artistic direction of Arts & Entertainment projects.
- Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and other department heads to achieve project goals.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for the VFX department effectively.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and techniques in the VFX industry, championing innovation within the team.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a VFX Artist , with a significant portion in a lead or supervisory role.
- Proven ability to create compelling and realistic visual effects using software such as Houdini, Maya, Nuke, or After Effects.
- Strong understanding of 3D principles, simulation dynamics, compositing, and rendering techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of managing and motivating creative teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail and aesthetic quality.
