Lean Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Lean Manufacturing Engineer to join their operations as a fully remote team member. This critical role will focus on driving operational excellence by implementing and sustaining Lean principles across all manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for analyzing existing systems, identifying waste, and developing strategies to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity. As a remote contributor, you will leverage digital collaboration tools to engage with teams, conduct virtual assessments, and guide the implementation of Lean initiatives, making this an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for autonomy and impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion the implementation and continuous improvement of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Analyze production processes to identify and eliminate waste (muda), variability (mura), and overburden (muri).
• Develop and execute plans for optimizing factory layouts, material flow, and production scheduling to improve efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Lead cross-functional teams in Kaizen events and other improvement workshops to drive rapid problem-solving and process enhancements.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and visual aids to support Lean initiatives.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Lean implementation, such as OEE, lead time reduction, and cost savings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Lean Manufacturing or a similar process improvement role.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing Lean tools and techniques to achieve significant operational improvements.
• Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and change management skills, essential for a remote role.
• Proficiency with Lean simulation software and standard office productivity tools.
