Lean Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Lean Manufacturing Engineer to implement and champion lean principles within their operations in Reading . This role is critical for driving efficiency, reducing waste, and improving overall productivity across manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement, developing lean strategies, and guiding teams through the implementation of lean tools and techniques. The ideal candidate is passionate about continuous improvement, possesses a strong understanding of lean methodologies, and has a proven ability to facilitate change and achieve measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of lean manufacturing initiatives across the production facility.
• Conduct value stream mapping, 5S activities, Kaizen events, and other lean workshops to identify and eliminate waste.
• Develop and standardize work procedures, production layouts, and workflows to optimize efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Train and mentor production staff and cross-functional teams on lean principles and tools, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, measure the impact of lean initiatives, and report on progress to management.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to integrate lean concepts into new product introductions and process changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience specifically in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in applying various lean tools and methodologies (e.g., 5S, VSM, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive informed decisions.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and training skills.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing lean projects and achieving significant improvements in efficiency and cost reduction.
