Lean Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Lean Manufacturing Engineer to join their operational team in Glasgow . This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement initiatives and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. You will work closely with production teams on the factory floor, implementing lean principles and methodologies to create a culture of excellence. Your expertise will be crucial in transforming production workflows and ensuring the adoption of best practices within a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) on the production floor.
• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify and eliminate waste, inefficiencies, and non-value-added activities.
• Develop and implement standardized work procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
• Lead cross-functional teams in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
• Train and mentor production staff on lean methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and cost, and report on progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement role.
• Proven experience with lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kanban, and SMED.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operations.
• Excellent facilitation and training skills , with the ability to engage production personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to drive change and achieve measurable results.
