KM Recruitment is a specialist UK wide recruiter for the Skills and Employability sectors. Job Title: Learner Support Lead - Study Programmes Location: Ipswich - travel to other sites in Suffolk and East Midlands Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 Type: Full Time, Permanent Essential Criteria:
- Previous team management / supervisory experience within learner support or a similar post-16 setting.
- Understanding of SEND and post-16 education.
- Experience conducting 1:1s, staff reviews and providing ongoing guidance/support.
- Experience supporting young people in an education or pastoral environment.
- Strong safeguarding and learner welfare knowledge.
- Experience managing learner concerns, ideally including attendance, wellbeing and pastoral interventions
- A strong understanding of Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity
Duties
- Lead and manage the Learner support team, ensuring they receive high-quality, confidential and impartial information, advice and guidance at every stage of their educational journey.
- Overseeing the team, providing ongoing guidance, supervision, 1:1s and performance reviews.
- Together with leading the team, you will work hands on as a Learner Support Advisor, providing pastoral support, advice and guidance to learners throughout their learning journey, supporting a range of welfare, wellbeing and personal concerns.
- Monitor learner attendance, identifying trends and implementing appropriate interventions to improve engagement and reduce absence.
- Oversee safeguarding and wellbeing concerns, ensuring all issues are recorded, monitored and addressed efficiently and in line with relevant policies and procedures.
- Support learner engagement, enrolment, interviews, initial assessments, induction and ongoing CEIAG activities.
- Hold regular Learner support meetings and reviews, contributing to learner progress reporting, EHCP reviews and wider support planning.
- Work closely with the Head of Education, DSL and wider delivery team to ensure effective learner support and compliance with Ofsted requirements.
