About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Learning Disabilities Nurse to join their specialist team in Leeds . This role focuses on providing high-quality, person-centred nursing care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, promoting their health, well-being, and independence. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, advocating for your clients and ensuring their specific needs are met with understanding and respect. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate person-centred care plans for individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring all needs are addressed.
• Provide direct nursing care, including health monitoring, medication administration, and support with personal care, as required.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
• Offer health promotion advice and support, helping clients to adopt healthier lifestyles and manage long-term conditions.
• Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
• Conduct health assessments and contribute to the ongoing professional development of the care team.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RNLD) qualification with current NMC registration.
• Proven experience working with individuals with learning disabilities in a nursing or support capacity.
• Strong understanding of the principles of person-centred care and current best practices in learning disability nursing.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and observational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge.
