About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Learning Disability Support Worker to join their team in Brighton . This role is focused on empowering individuals with learning disabilities to live fulfilling, independent, and inclusive lives within their community. You will provide tailored support, assisting residents with daily activities, promoting social engagement, and advocating for their needs. Key Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, assisting with personal care, daily living tasks, and medication as needed.
• Support residents in engaging in meaningful activities, hobbies, and community participation to foster social inclusion and personal development.
• Develop and maintain positive, trusting relationships with individuals, respecting their choices and promoting their independence.
• Monitor and report on individuals' progress, well-being, and any changes in their needs to the management team.
• Work collaboratively with families, support networks, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive care approach.
• Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.

Requirements

• Previous experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities is highly desirable.
• A compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards individuals.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication methods to suit individual needs.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and best practices in social care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team in East Sussex .
• Willingness to undertake relevant training, including the Care Certificate and further qualifications in social care .
