About the Role

Our client is seeking an empathetic and patient Learning Disability Support Worker to join their Community & Social Care team in Oxford . This role involves providing essential daily support to individuals with learning disabilities, enabling them to lead fulfilling and independent lives within their community. You will assist with personal care, daily living activities, and promote social inclusion and personal development. This is a vital position requiring a commitment to dignity, respect, and person-centred care in the Oxfordshire area.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Support clients in engaging in community activities, hobbies, and social events.
• Promote independence and decision-making skills for individuals in their daily lives.
• Help clients manage their health needs, including attending appointments and administering medication as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and any significant changes.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times, adhering to safeguarding policies.

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities is desirable.
• Understanding of the principles of person-centred care and promoting independence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and compassionate nature.
• Ability to work flexibly, including shifts, weekends, and some evenings.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and relevant training, including safeguarding.
