About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with a focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN) to join a supportive primary school in Nottingham . In this role, you will work closely with students who have diverse learning needs, providing tailored support both in and out of the classroom to help them achieve their academic and personal best. You will collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to implement support strategies and foster an inclusive learning environment where all children feel valued and can thrive. This is a fulfilling opportunity to make a tangible difference in a child's educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with identified SEN needs, implementing individual learning plans.
- Assist teachers in preparing learning materials and adapting classroom activities to meet the needs of SEN students.
- Supervise students during lessons, break times, and other school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Help students to develop their literacy, numeracy, and social skills through targeted interventions.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals regarding student progress and any concerns.
Requirements
- Experience working with children, preferably in a school or care setting, with a focus on SEN.
- A genuine interest in supporting the learning and development of children with diverse needs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Basic understanding of child development and learning support strategies.
