Legacy Giving Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and empathetic Legacy Giving Officer to join their fundraising team, supporting their work across Northern Ireland . This role focuses on developing and implementing strategies to increase income from legacy donations, which are vital for the long-term sustainability of the charity's services. You will be responsible for engaging with supporters to inspire them to remember the charity in their Will, manage relationships with solicitors, and provide excellent stewardship. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who understands the sensitive nature of legacy giving and is passionate about securing future support for essential causes, working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive legacy fundraising strategy for Northern Ireland.
• Engage with supporters through tailored communications and events to encourage legacy pledges.
• Manage and nurture relationships with individuals who have pledged or are considering leaving a legacy.
• Liaise with solicitors and professional advisors regarding legacy administration and estate matters.
• Provide excellent stewardship to legacy donors and their families, ensuring a positive experience.
• Analyse legacy income data and report on progress against targets.

Requirements

• Experience in legacy fundraising or similar relationship-based fundraising roles within the charity sector.
• Understanding of the principles and practices of legacy giving.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with sensitivity and empathy.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload of prospects and donors.
• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
