Legacy Giving Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Legacy Giving Officer to join their team in Oxford . This essential role focuses on developing and implementing strategies to increase legacy income, a vital source of funding for our long-term charitable work. You will be responsible for engaging with supporters who are considering leaving a gift in their will, providing information, support, and building lasting relationships. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a sensitive and professional approach to discussing sensitive topics, and a commitment to our client's mission in Oxfordshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategy to promote legacy giving to supporters across Oxford and beyond.
• Engage with supporters through various channels, including direct mail, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings.
• Provide clear and accurate information about leaving a legacy gift and its impact.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential legacy donors.
• Work collaboratively with the wider fundraising team to integrate legacy messaging into broader campaigns.
• Manage a caseload of potential legacy prospects and ensure accurate record-keeping.

Requirements

• Experience in fundraising, particularly in legacy giving, major gifts, or relationship management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills, with a sensitive and empathetic approach.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with individuals.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in record keeping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
