About the Role
Our client is seeking a sharp and experienced Legal Counsel with a specialization in Intellectual Property (IP) to join their team in Norwich . This role is critical for protecting the company's valuable intellectual assets, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. You will advise on IP strategy, manage IP portfolios, and handle licensing agreements, as well as potential infringement matters. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IP law and its application in a business context, working closely with R&D, marketing, and product development teams. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio , including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements, such as licensing, R&D, and confidentiality agreements.
- Advise on IP strategy, clearance, and registration processes.
- Conduct IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
- Monitor the IP landscape for potential infringement risks and opportunities.
- Assist in enforcing IP rights and defending against infringement claims.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with 4+ years of experience specializing in Intellectual Property law .
- Proven experience in patent, trademark, and copyright law.
- Strong understanding of IP licensing and commercialization strategies.
- Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and business teams.
