Legal Counsel - Intellectual Property

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel with a focus on Intellectual Property to join their innovative team. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, providing flexibility with a balance of remote and in-office presence in Sheffield . You will be responsible for managing the company's IP portfolio, advising on patent, trademark, and copyright matters, and supporting R&D initiatives. This is a key position for an IP specialist looking to make a significant contribution to a forward-thinking organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on the registrability and protection of trademarks, patents, and designs.
• Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licensing, assignment, and joint development agreements.
• Conduct IP due diligence for potential acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
• Manage IP disputes, including infringement analysis and opposition proceedings.
• Provide strategic advice on IP protection, enforcement, and commercialisation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with IP laws and regulations globally.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' experience in intellectual property law.
• Strong understanding of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret law.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating IP licensing and commercial agreements.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide strategic IP advice.
• Effective communicator, comfortable working in a hybrid remote and office environment.
• Proactive in identifying and mitigating IP-related risks.
