Legal Counsel - Technology & IP

About the Role

Our client, a leader in technological innovation, is looking for a sharp and commercially minded Legal Counsel with expertise in Technology and Intellectual Property (IP) law. This role, which can be performed remotely , will involve advising on software licensing, IP protection, data privacy, and technology-related contracts. You will be instrumental in safeguarding the company's intellectual assets and ensuring compliance in a rapidly evolving tech landscape. Key Responsibilities

• Advise on and draft agreements related to software licensing , SaaS, and technology development.
• Manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio , including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
• Provide legal counsel on data privacy and cybersecurity matters in line with GDPR and other regulations.
• Support R&D and product teams on legal aspects of new technology initiatives.
• Negotiate and draft IT-related contracts, including hardware and service agreements.
• Assist with due diligence for technology acquisitions or partnerships.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in the UK with at least 5 years' experience in Technology and IP law.
• Strong understanding of IP law (patents, trademarks, copyright) and commercial contracts.
• Experience with data protection and cybersecurity regulations is essential.
• Ability to provide clear, practical, and business-focused legal advice.
• Excellent negotiation and drafting skills, with a meticulous eye for detail.
