Legal Counsel - Technology & IP

About the Role

Our client is seeking a sharp and commercially minded Legal Counsel with a focus on Technology and Intellectual Property (IP) to join their innovative team. Based in Cambridge , this role involves advising on a broad range of legal issues related to technology, software, data privacy, and IP protection. You will work closely with R&D, product development, and commercial teams to support cutting-edge projects. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate technology-focused contracts, including SaaS agreements, software licenses, and development agreements.
• Advise on intellectual property matters, including patent, trademark, and copyright protection and enforcement.
• Provide counsel on data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and compliance strategies.
• Support the commercialisation of new technologies and products.
• Assist with the management of the company's IP portfolio.
• Manage legal aspects of technology-related disputes and risk mitigation.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with at least 4 years of experience in technology and IP law .
• Strong understanding of software licensing, SaaS models, and open-source compliance.
• Experience advising on data protection and privacy laws.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
• Ability to provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice.
• Comfortable and effective working within a hybrid work model.
