About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialist Legal Counsel with expertise in technology and intellectual property to join their fully remote legal team. This role is crucial for advising on the legal aspects of technology development, commercialisation, and IP strategy. You will work closely with product, engineering, and business development teams to navigate complex legal landscapes, protect intellectual assets, and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on technology transactions, software licensing, and SaaS agreements.
• Develop and implement intellectual property strategies, including patent, trademark, and copyright protection.
• Advise on data privacy and cybersecurity matters, ensuring compliance with global regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements.
• Manage and resolve intellectual property disputes and infringement issues.
• Collaborate with R&D and product teams to assess legal risks associated with new technologies and products.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with at least 6 years of experience, specialising in Technology Law and Intellectual Property .
• In-depth knowledge of software licensing, open-source compliance, and IT outsourcing.
• Proven experience in IP portfolio management and enforcement.
• Strong understanding of data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and cybersecurity best practices.
• Excellent negotiation and drafting skills, with a commercial mindset.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team structure.
