About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy Legal Counsel to join their innovative legal department on a fully remote basis. This pivotal role involves providing expert legal guidance on technology-related matters, including software licensing, data privacy, and intellectual property. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business development teams, operating in a fully remote setting. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate technology-focused contracts, such as SaaS agreements, software licenses, and development contracts.
• Advise on intellectual property protection, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and cybersecurity best practices.
• Support product development by providing legal guidance on new features and technologies.
• Manage and resolve technology-related disputes and litigation.
• Conduct legal research on emerging technology law and trends.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with at least 5 years of experience in technology law or commercial law with a strong tech focus.
• Deep understanding of software licensing, IP law, and data privacy regulations.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex legal issues in a fast-paced, remote environment .
• Strong collaborative skills and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud computing agreements is highly desirable.
