About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and organized Leisure and Events Officer to join their team in Nottingham . This role involves the planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of community leisure activities and special events designed to engage residents and promote local wellbeing. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including community groups, local authorities, and service providers, to deliver successful and impactful initiatives. This hybrid position allows for flexibility, combining on-site event management and community outreach with remote administrative and planning tasks. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual passionate about community development and enhancing the quality of life in Nottingham through accessible leisure opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, organizing, and managing community leisure events, festivals, and sports activities from conception to completion.
- Developing marketing and promotional materials to encourage public participation in leisure programs.
- Liaising with external suppliers, contractors, and volunteers to ensure smooth event delivery.
- Managing event budgets, including sourcing funding, processing invoices, and tracking expenditure.
- Assessing the success of events through feedback mechanisms and reporting on outcomes.
- Identifying opportunities to develop new leisure programs and services based on community needs and interests.
Requirements
- Experience in event management, community development, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
