About the Role
Our client is recruiting for an experienced Lift & Escalator Engineer to join their specialized Installation & Maintenance team, with the flexibility of remote operations supported from Norwich, Norfolk . This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of lifts and escalators across various sites. You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of these complex systems, often coordinating with clients and internal teams remotely. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical knowledge of vertical transportation systems and excels in problem-solving and proactive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, servicing, and planned preventative maintenance on lifts and escalators.
- Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of vertical transportation equipment.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with current safety regulations and standards.
- Provide remote technical support and guidance to on-site teams and clients.
- Maintain detailed service records and report on equipment condition and maintenance needs.
- Respond to emergency call-outs as required, prioritizing safety and swift resolution.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Lift or Escalator Engineer.
- In-depth knowledge of lift and escalator mechanics, electrics, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and maintenance manuals.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities, adaptable to remote interaction.
- Qualifications or certifications relevant to lift engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3).
