Livestock Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Livestock Manager to oversee animal husbandry and farm operations in Glasgow . This role is critical for ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of all livestock on the farm. You will be responsible for managing feed programs, health monitoring, breeding strategies, and the overall care of the animals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of animal science and a proven track record in managing large herds or flocks. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive animal health and welfare programs.
• Oversee daily feeding, watering, and care of livestock, ensuring optimal nutrition.
• Manage breeding programs to improve herd or flock genetics and productivity.
• Monitor livestock for signs of illness or distress and coordinate veterinary care.
• Maintain accurate records of livestock movements, health, and production.
• Ensure compliance with all animal welfare regulations and best practices.

Requirements

• Significant experience in livestock management or a related animal husbandry role.
• A degree or qualification in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a relevant field is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of animal nutrition, reproduction, and health management.
• Excellent observational skills and ability to identify potential issues quickly.
• Demonstrated ability to manage farm staff effectively.
