About the Role

Our client, a progressive agricultural producer in Northern Ireland , is looking for a dedicated Livestock Manager to oversee their animal husbandry operations. This role is crucial for maintaining the health, welfare, and productivity of our herds. You will be responsible for implementing best practices in animal care, managing feeding programs, and ensuring adherence to stringent biosecurity and welfare standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing livestock performance and contributing to the overall success of the farm's enterprise, working in a remote capacity to provide oversight and strategic guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive livestock health and welfare programs.
• Manage daily feeding, breeding, and health monitoring routines for all livestock.
• Oversee the procurement of feed, veterinary supplies, and other necessary resources.
• Ensure strict adherence to biosecurity protocols and animal welfare regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of livestock performance, health, and treatments.
• Collaborate with veterinary professionals and technical advisors to optimize herd management.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and development of livestock operations from a remote standpoint.

Requirements

• Proven experience in livestock management, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of animal nutrition, health, and breeding systems.
• Understanding of relevant UK and Northern Ireland animal welfare legislation.
• Excellent record-keeping and analytical skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate and provide guidance remotely.
• A qualification in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field is advantageous.
