Livestock Technician - Dairy Farm

Our client is seeking a dedicated Livestock Technician to join their thriving dairy farm operation in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This essential role involves the direct care and management of the dairy herd, ensuring animal welfare, health, and productivity. You will be responsible for daily feeding, milking, health monitoring, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff. This position is ideal for an individual with a genuine passion for animal husbandry and a commitment to high standards of farm management, contributing to the supply of quality dairy products.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily milking procedures efficiently and hygienically.
• Administer feed rations according to established nutritional plans.
• Monitor herd health, identify sick or injured animals, and assist the veterinarian as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the milking parlours, barns, and animal housing areas.
• Recordkeeping for milk production, animal health treatments, and breeding data.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with livestock, preferably dairy cows.
• Knowledge of animal husbandry, feeding practices, and basic animal health care.
• Ability to operate farm machinery and equipment safely.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
