About the Role

Our client requires a dedicated and diligent Livestock Technician to support their operations in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is crucial for maintaining the health, welfare, and productivity of the farm's animals. You will be involved in daily feeding, monitoring animal health, assisting with veterinary procedures, and ensuring that housing and enclosures are maintained to the highest standards. This position is ideal for an individual with a genuine passion for animal care and a strong understanding of modern livestock management practices within the Staffordshire agricultural sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement daily feeding regimes for various types of livestock according to established schedules and nutritional plans.
• Monitor animal health and behavior, identifying any signs of illness or distress and reporting them promptly.
• Assist veterinary staff with medical treatments, vaccinations, and routine health checks.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of animal housing, enclosures, and surrounding areas.
• Operate farm machinery and equipment used in livestock management, such as feed mixers and muck spreaders.
• Record keeping of animal movements, treatments, and health observations accurately.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with livestock in a farm or animal care setting.
• A solid understanding of animal welfare standards and best practices.
• Proficiency in operating basic farm machinery and equipment.
