About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Livestock Technician to support their operations in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This practical role focuses on the daily care and management of farm animals, ensuring their health, welfare, and productivity. You will work closely with the farm management team, implementing feeding regimes, monitoring animal health, and maintaining clean and safe housing conditions. This position is ideal for an individual with a genuine passion for animal husbandry and a commitment to ethical farming practices within the agricultural industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer feed and water to livestock according to established schedules and dietary requirements.
• Monitor livestock for signs of illness or injury and report any concerns to the farm manager or veterinarian.
• Assist with animal handling, including vaccinations, treatments, and routine health checks.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of animal housing, pens, and associated equipment.
• Operate farm machinery and equipment used for livestock management, such as feeders and mucking-out machinery.
• Record keeping related to animal health, feed consumption, and production data.

Requirements

• Previous experience in livestock care or farm work is essential.
• Knowledge of animal husbandry principles and best practices for animal welfare.
