About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Livestock Technician to support their operations in Cardiff . This hands-on role is critical for the health and welfare of the farm's animals, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care. You will work closely with the farm management team to maintain optimal living conditions, implement feeding programs, and assist with veterinary procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily care and feeding for a variety of livestock, ensuring all nutritional requirements are met.
• Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any signs of illness or distress to the farm manager or veterinarian.
• Assist with breeding programs, including artificial insemination and monitoring of pregnancies.
• Maintain cleanliness and biosecurity within animal housing facilities.
• Operate and maintain farm equipment related to livestock management.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with livestock, such as cattle, sheep, or poultry.
• A strong understanding of animal welfare principles and best practices.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with animal husbandry, including lifting and handling.
• Good observation skills and attention to detail in monitoring animal health.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and follow farm schedules.
