About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Livestock Technician to support their operations in Belfast . This crucial role involves assisting with the daily care and management of various farm animals, ensuring their health, welfare, and productivity. You will work under the guidance of farm managers and veterinarians, performing essential tasks related to feeding, health monitoring, and maintaining clean and safe living environments for the animals. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily feeding, watering, and general care of livestock according to established protocols.
• Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any signs of illness, injury, or distress to management promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within animal housing areas, ensuring compliance with biosecurity standards.
• Assist with animal handling procedures, including vaccinations, treatments, and routine health checks.
• Record data related to animal feed consumption, health observations, and production metrics.
• Operate and maintain farm equipment and tools necessary for daily livestock operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with livestock or in a farm environment is essential.
• A solid understanding of animal welfare principles and basic animal health care.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical fitness and willingness to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
• Good observational skills and attention to detail.
• A relevant qualification in Animal Science or Agriculture is a plus.
